Calvin Klein The One Mascara Review

22 Jul

Hey guys! So today’s post is going to be all about a mascara that I’ve had for a while now and I figured I would do a review for all of you. I’m referring to Calvin Klein’s The One Mascara in the shade electrify and it is blue. This is actually my only colored mascara at the moment, but I really do like it. I think if you do a neutral eye look this would be the perfect way to add a pop of color to your look if you really wanted to. I purchased this mascara at Ulta and it costs about eighteen dollars. This mascara also comes in black, soft black, purple, and brown too.

One really cool thing about this mascara is that the brush part actually twists. At the end of the handle of the brush you can see that you can twist the brush to be two different sizes, there is a big and a small side. The bigger side is meant to be used on your upper lashes and the smaller size is meant to be used on your lower lashes. I really like this idea because it allows you to really cover you lashes with the mascara in depth. This is also great because smudging will also be reduced, which every girl hates smudging their mascara.

So this is what the mascara looks like, I’m not too crazy about the packaging but I definitely love the mascara itself. As you can see in the pictures that I have taken, as I had mentioned before, you can actually see on the brushes handle where you can turn the brush to be either small or big. This specific color is very bold and vibrant which I love especially for a mascara, it really does add a nice pop to any eye look! But as you can see the brush does has two different sizes as I had mentioned, the second picture shows the brush when it’s at its largest and the last picture shows the brush when it’s at its smallest.

I really like this mascara and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is looking for a new mascara to try out, even if you are looking for some colorful mascaras be sure to check out Calvin Klein!

Thank you all so much for checking out my blog and I will have another post up tomorrow, hopefully!

Colourpop Haul

18 Jul

Hi everyone! I’m so sorry that I haven’t been blogging for all of you, I’ve been meaning to get a couple of posts up for you guys but I just never got around to doing it. But I am super excited about today’s post so let’s jump into it! So about two weeks ago I ordered some products from Colourpop Cosmetics, for those you who may not already know about Colourpop they happen to be a cosmetic company that is from California, specifically Los Angeles and they are extremely well known within the beauty community for their outstanding products. They happen to be a cruelty free company which means that they cause absolutely no harm to animals within the making of their products. Another great thing about this particular company is both the prices of their products as well as the quality of their products. I purchased five eyeshadows from them, and they only cost five dollars each! They really are such great quality it’s unbelievable! The formula and texture of these shadows is extremely soft and they really glide on perfectly. For the best results, Colourpop suggests that you should apply these shadows with your fingertips, you can even use a flat synthetic brush as well. These shadows are so soft and feathery that they almost kind of feel like they are wet when you swatch them or feel them, which I really like because you can tell that you are going to get great color pay off when you apply them. I also bought two of their lippiesticks,or how ColourPop like to call them “lippie stix”, and they both happen to be matte. I really like the formula of their lippie stixs as well, they’re super creamy and they don’t make your lips feel dry which is what most matte lip products tend to do to your lips, so that is another bonus! All of their lippie stix contain vitamin E, mango, and avocado and shea butter. They don’t contain any parabens or sulfates! Lippie stix also has a matching lip pencil so you can perfectly pair them together, both the lippie stix and the lip pencils only cost five dollars each too!

So this is how the products look in the box, I figured I would show you guys because I really do love the box that they ship the products in as well as the individual product boxes. I think that packaging really does define a brand so I really love the effort that Colourpop puts into making their customers love them as a company!

image

When you purchase something from them they also send you a thank you note and I thought this was so adorable and hilarious, I had to show you guys, especially all you Mean Girls fans! It says dear Joanna you can always sit with us, for any of you that may have never seen Mean Girls this bite is actually a sweeter version of a popular quote from the movie.

image

So this is just an overview of the products that I purchased, I wanted show you guys how the products look when they aren’t being used, which I love!

image

So I really wanted to show you all how these shadows looked in the sunlight, I’m sorry they don’t look perfect but I tried my best. So this shadow is actually called Tea Party and I really like it. It’s this gorgeous light salmon color and it is metallic. I love salmon colors especially during this summer so I thought this would be nice to have!

image

So this shadow is called Nillionaire and the camera literally does this shadow no justice! It is beyond beautiful it’s like this coppery, gold metallic color and I love it so much! It’s perfect for that dewy brown smokey eye too which is great for the summer!

image

This shadow is called 3 and it is such a gorgeous chocolately brown shade, it is metallic as well and I really like this shadow!

image

This shadow is LA LA and I think it is so pretty it is just this amazing coppery, almost a deeper rose gold kind of shade and I think it would be perfect for the summer too!

image

Lastly we have So Quiche and this is another great shadow for a bronze smokey eye as well it also kind of has this purple tinge to it which is really pretty, it is metallic as you can all probably tell I’ve just been on a metallic kick but Colourpops shadows are just too pretty to pass up! The camera does no justice for any of these shadows but believe me when I say that they are all beyond beautiful in person!

image

And these are the two lipoid stix that I purchased, on the left we have Lumiere and on the right we have Pinch. As I have mentioned before they are both matte and I really like them. I think they are perfect shades for the fall as well and I am extremely excited to use them for a full look!

So I would definitely recommend Colourpop to anyone, I know that I will definitely be repurchasing from them very soon and I encourage all of you to check them out!

Thank you guys so much for checking out my blog and I will have another post up for you all tomorrow!

Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette Review

1 Jul

Hi everyone! So today’s post is going to be all about a palette from Sephora, that I have had for a while now and I figured I would blog about it and do a review on it for all of you. For those of you who may not already know about Sephora, they happen to be one of the biggest beauty retailers within the cosmetic industry, they only retail products from high end cosmetic companies such as Benefit, Bobbi Brown, Stila, Tarte, etc. Sephora does also carry their own cosmetic line, which you can buy in their stores, it is known as the Sephora Collection. (Many seem to think that MAC is a part of Sephora, but it isn’t, MAC is its own company.) But I do have some posts on my blog regarding Sephora, so feel free to check those posts out as well. But the palette that I am going to be talking about is actually from the Sephora Collection and I’ve had it for some time now. I am referring to the Moonshadow Baked Palette. It comes with ten gorgeous shadows, they are all shimmery and they are all baked shadows so you can create a very beautiful look that will give off such an amazing glow to your eyes. These shadows are great for creating either a neutral or a neutral smokey look too, since this palette mainly consists of shades that are on the nude side. I really like to use this palette in the summer because the shadows are very luminous, because I love to glow during the summer months, and they don’t feel too cakey or heavy on your lids which I prefer especially when the warmer weather arrives. Even though it is warmer you still want to look presentable without feeling like your makeup is sliding right off of your face.

There are actually two versions of this palette, I have the Moonshadow Baked In the Nude, but Sephora also offers the Moonshadow Baked In the Dark. The other palette does offer shades that are more on the darker side, so you could definitely create more of  a traditional smokey look by using that palette. They both cost about twenty seven dollars each.

So this is what the palette looks like, I think it’s packaging definitely holds true to it’s purpose too! The shadows are just so gorgeous and I purposely used the flash in this photo so you could see how luminous they really are. But starting on the top row, left to right the shadows are, Cream, Light Bronze, Soft Gold, Peach, and Taupe. Bottom row, left to right the shadows are, Silver, Deep Brown, Honey Brown, Deep Sienna, and Plum. These shadows are just so gorgeous, I can’t get enough of them! But I would definitely encourage all of you to check this palette out for yourselves in person and see what you think about it!

Thank you all so much for checking out my blog and I will have another post up for you all tomorrow!

Favorite MAC Face Products

1 Jul

Hi guys! So today’s post is going to be all about some of my favorite face products from MAC, specifically compact products such as two of their mineralized skinfinishes, one of their highlighting powders, and one blush. For those of you who may not have heard of MAC (Makeup Artistry Cosmetics), they happen to be a high end cosmetic company that is very popular in the beauty industry. I do already have a ton of posts on my blog regarding MAC and some of their products and collections so feel free to find out more about that! But their mineralized skin finishes (MSF’s) and highlighters are raved about by many beauty lovers, because they are such great products. All of MAC’s products are excellent and they are a favorite of mine. But I did want to do a review on some of my favorites so lets start!

(Before I start reviewing these products, MSF’s can be characterized as highlighting powders as well, but they have this baked sort of mineralized look to them, so when you apply an MSF to your face it gives off this natural glowing effect.)

Soft & Gentle (MSF)

Soft & Gentle is a very popular MSF from MAC and it happens to be my very first MSF that I have ever received from MAC. It is a gorgeous champagne gold, and it gives off such a luminous glow in the sun or in pictures. I really love to use this MSF in the summer because it really gives such a luminous glow to your face. This particular MSF is great if you are trying to achieve more of a dewy look, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a beautiful highlight shade to help them achieve a glowing face.

Perfect Topping (MSF)

Perfect Topping is an MSF that was limited edition for a while with MAC and I purchased it last year from their A Fantasy of Flowers collection, it was a part of this collection and as soon as I saw it online I immediately had to get it because I knew that eventually it would be unavailable to purchase. But it seems like MAC has not taken it away from the public yet since it is still available on their website. But this MSF is absolutely stunning, it is like this gold, peachy color and it kind of has some lavendar hues in it as well when you look at. It looks so beautiful when you swatch it or when you apply it to your face. I encourage all of you to check out this MSF as well.

Blush Pink (Highlight)

Blush Pink is a pink highlight shade (it is not an MSF) that was from Philip Treacy’s collection with MAC. The design of this product in its compact is also very nice as well, it has a combination of light pink and silver. It looks very beautiful on skin too, it doesn’t give your face like that baked dewy look but it does give off a really nice dewy glow that is more concentrated not baked. I would encourage anyone who is more interested in regular highlight powders as opposed to baked or mineralized powders to purchase this product.

Pink Swoon (Blush)

Pink Swoon was my very first blush from MAC and I really love it. It is like the perfect pink for any look. It can work for more of a natural look to give your face that pink flush and it can work for a more dramatic look as well. It is matte which I like too and I really do like it, I would totally encourage all of you to check out this blush too.

So these are some pictures that I took of the products, I really think that they are just so gorgeous, and I used a flash for the pictures too so you could see how they would look in light. They really so stand out and they stand out even more on skin!

The top two pictures show the products and what they actually look like, the one on the top is Perfect Topping, the one on the left is Soft & Gentle, the one on the right is Blush Pink, and the one on the bottom is Pink Swoon. The MSF’s cost around thirty six dollars and that is the same price for their highlighting powders as well. Their blushes cost about twenty two dollars but they do offer other kinds of blushes such as mineralized blushes, prolongwear blushes, or even cream blushes too. But be sure to check out MAC and these products, you won’t regret it!

Thank you all so much for checking out my blog and I will have another post up for you guys tomorrow!
